In some ways, it’s as if we just said goodnight
A few minutes ago, the memory is intensely real –
Your infectious laughter, recalling the night’s events in the passenger seat seem surreal
It’s almost effortless to restore your image
Literally, as if you were here once again

Storm clouds on a blustery day
Cleansing problems away
Denial represents remnants of
Beautiful long-stemmed roses
Completely the opposite of
The thorns that oppose them
After blurting out plumes of smoke
Reality is subsequent the turncoat
Cresting memories no longer loyal
Recede into freshly soaked soil
Blistering heat forces a final breath
Putting surreal memories to death

March 19th, 2009
Farewell for now and hopefully not forever
Forced into an existence of conformity
We’ve finally been coerced into separation
Memories will maintain a reverberant nature
For now rehearsed symmetry until you beckon
